Module 3 Summary

After going through Module 3, I learned that web robots, also known as spiders, are programs that automatically search the web to find new sites and update information about old ones already in the database.

I also learned about meta tags, which are HTML codes that webpage developers put in the head section of a page. These tags tell web robots details about the page's content.

I already knew about stemming, but now I have a deeper understanding. For example, using keywords and typing them a certain way can narrow down search results to be more specific. The "AND" operator helps restrict results by combining terms, "OR" widens your search by including multiple terms, and "NOT" lets you exclude certain things from your search.I really liked the part about checking the validity of a website. It’s something I’ll be using a lot more when searching online—it’s practical and will definitely be useful in the future.
